Do you have handwritten notes in your files? As I’m going thru my files, I am finding such notes. One set of notes comes from Ford County, Kansas for my Hammond line. Fortunately, I do have photocopies of the marriage licenses for my 2nd great grandfather and some his children.

Orange Blossoms
On Christmas day, 1889, at the residence of the bride’s father on North Railroad avenue, was married Homer L. Bleecker and Miss Nellie E. Hammond, Rev. J. M. Wright performing the ceremony with the ring. After the ceremony there was a bountiful supper served. The bride is a modest, retiring little woman, having a very just appreciation of the responsibilities of life. The groom is a young man of excellent habits, and for some time has been engaged with the Santa Fe railroad as a yard master at this place. The young couple have already selected and moved into their home on Avenue A, directly east of Dr. Milton’s residence. The Globe-Republican extends congratulations, and doubts not that each is pleased with the Christmas gift received.
