Film 1977055 DGS 8071880This indenture witnesseth that Washington M. Pugh and Nancy Pugh his wife
of Warren County and State of Indiana in consideration of fifteen hundred dollars to
them paid by Nelson G Crawford of the same place the receipt whereof is hereby ackno
wledged do hereby grant bargain sell and convey to the said Nelson G Crawford and his heir
and assigns forever the following real estate in Warren County and State of Indiana and described
as follows to wit the East half of the north west quarter of section eight (8) in township twenty-one
(21) north of range eight (8) west and the north east quarter of the south west quarter of section
eight (8) in township twenty one (21) north of range eight (8) west except eight acres
and twenty six hundredths of an acre out of the south east corner of the last mentioned tract
containing altogether one hundred and eleven acres and seventy four hundredths an
acre in [?] tract of land offered for sale at Crawfordsville Indiana together with
all the privileges and appurtenaces of the same belonging to have and to hold the same
to the said Nelson G Crawford his heir and assign forever the grantor & his heirs and assigns
hereby covenantly with the grantee his heir and assigns that the tittle so conveyed that
clear Free and unencumbered that thy are lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid as of
a sum and indefeasible estate of inheritance in fee simple and that thy will warrantpage 493
and defend the same against all claims whatsoever in witness whereof the said Washing
ton M Pugh and Mary Pugh his wife who hereby relinquished her dower in said premises
have hereunto put their names and seals the 5th day of April A.D. 1853

State of Indiana Warren County SS Personally appeared before me the subscribed [accord]
in and for said county Washington M Pugh the grantor in the above conveyance and
acknowledged the same to be his voluntary and deed and the said Nancy Pugh
wife of the said Washington M Pugh being examined by me privately separate
and apart from and with the hearing of her siad husband and she full content
and purpose of said deed being by me made known and explained declared that
she executed the same of her own free will and accord and without any
coercion or compulsion from her husband
