In 1855, William Duggins sold land he owned in Warren County, Indiana to his half brother, Nelson Crawford. The deed was for the sale of 313 acres for $1600.

FS Film #1977056, DGS 8071881Know all men that William A. Duggins and Sarah Duggins
his wife of Preble County Ohio in [consideration] of sixteen hundred
dollars to them paid by Nelson G Crawford of Warren County
Indiana that receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby
bargain sell and convey to the said Nelson G Crawford his
heirs and assigns forever the following [premises] situate in the
township of Pine in the county of Warren and State of Indiana
and bargained and described as follows to wit and being
all of the South half of Section no thirty 30, in township no
twenty three 23, N of Range No nine 9 west containing 313
three hundred and thirteen acres of land more or less together
with all and singular the [priveleges] and appurtenances to
the same [Bem ging] to have and to hold the same to
the grantors there heirs and assigns hereby [onmantin] with
the grantee his heirs and assigns that the title so conveyed
is clear free and unencumbered and that they will warrant
and defend the same against all [Lawfull] claims whatsoever

this third day of September AD 1833

The State of Ohio Preble County SS. Be it remembered
that on this third day of September AD 1855 Before me a
Notary Public in and for said County personally came William
A. Duggins & Sarah his wife the grantors in the above
conveyance and acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof
to be their voluntary act and deed for the uses and purposes
therein mentioned And the said Sarah Duggins wife of
the said William A. Duggins being examined by me
separate and apart from her said husband andpage 403
the contents of said deed made known and explained to her by
me. She then declared that she did voluntarily sign seal
and acknowledged the same and that she is still satisfied [therewith]
