Saturday Night Genealogy Fun

Calling all Genea-Musings Fans:

It’s Saturday Night again –

time for some more Genealogy Fun!!

Here is your assignment, should you decide to accept it (you ARE reading this, so I assume that you really want to play along – cue the Mission Impossible music!):

1) Let’s do something different today.  Since it’s my 17th blogiversary today, please tell me which posts you especially like on Genea-Musings.  Are there any posts that you don’t care for?

3)  Write your own blog post, or leave a comment on this post, or write something on Facebook.

The Genea-Musings blog was one of the first genealogy blogs that I started reading after my retirement in 2016.Thus, Randy’s various blog posts show up in my Feedly list. And I share many of those posts via Twitter. Since Randy is a prolific blogger, it is hard to select favorites. But, here’s my list:

  • Personal stories / pictures – The photos and stories Randy shares about himself, his wife Linda and his family provides a connection. While we’ve never met in person and likely won’t I consider Randy a friend.
  • Best of the Genea-Blogs — I really appreciate this blog and look forward to it each week since it often highlights blog posts that I missed reading during the week. Since blog posts are my primary means of genealogy education, I really appreciate the time it takes to read and compile a list of the best each week. (I have to admit I also like seeing my own posts occasionally make his list.
  • Updates — weekly changes to Ancestry and FamilySearch records — these allow me to stay current with new records on those sites
  • Anything RootsMagic — a great way to learn about some feature or technique that I haven’t used
  • Amauensis Monday posts — because they encourage me to transcribe records
  • Bytes – Genealogy Education and Genealogy News — help me to stay current

THANK YOU Randy for everything you share via your blog! It is greatly appreciated.
