Saturday Night Genealogy Fun

Calling all Genea-Musings Fans:

Here is your assignment, should you decide to accept it (you ARE reading this, so I assume that you really want to play along – cue the Mission Impossible music!):

1)   Do you have a photograph of yourself with one or more of your grandparents?  How about your great-grandparents?  Show us what you have, and tell us your grandparents names.

One of my favorite pictures was taken at Christmas time when I was a year and a half old. We were in Dodge City for Christmas and my mother went into early labor, delivering twins on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, one of the twins did not survive. Even though I don’t remember the eventsof that Christmas, I have some wonderful pictures.

Me with my grandmother, Winnie Crawford and my great grandmother, Josie Hammond Crawford (Dec. 1953)

On my mom’s side of the tree, I don’t have any pictures with great grandparents. Since my grandfather died when I was 4, I’m lucky that I have a photo with him.

While not the best quality picture, another favorite is of me sitting on my grandfather Crawford’s lap.

Jumping to high school graduation, I have photos of me with grandma Briles and then with grandma and grandpa Crawford.

From my wedding, I have a photo with parents and grandparents. Grandma Briles is center front with grandma and grandpa Crawford to the left.

  1. You have lots of photos with your grandparents and family members, but I love the first one – the almost 4 generation picture. Your mom should have joined in!
