Have you searched the ‘Genealogies’ on the FamilySearch site? When I first started researching my family resources like the IGI and Ancestral File were some of the resources I often used. As I was updating sources for Enos Currey, I had a poorly written source for an Ancestral File.
Thus, I started searching for a digital copy of the file. That took me to the Wiki page for Ancestral File. I then opened the Genealogies search page to discover that there are quite a few ‘older’ resources on this page.

After a search of the Ancestral Files, I found what appears to be the same Ancestral File I used years ago.

Thus, I was able to create a better citation:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints [LDS], “Ancestral File,” database, Family Search – ANcestral File (www.familysearch.org : 8 April 2024 viewed online), Thomas Currey; submission mamericle2347819.
Curious about what else I could find, I did some browsing and found one of my submisstions.

Most of the information found by searching these genealogies are from submissions made by other genealogists. While it might be tempting to ignore them, there may be some hints, such as sources, associated with them. While the citations in these files may not be up to today’s standards, they would provide hints as to where information can be found.
