Time For Some More Genealogy Fun!!

1) When was the last time you had Genealogy Fun? It could be research, conferences, a society meeting, or just talking with friends about your research, a favorite trip, etc. Tell us about it!

While most people would consider my ‘genealogy fun’ to be work or drudgery. When I searched Google for the ‘definition of fun’ one of the responses said

to enjoy oneself, to amuse oneself, to have a good time

Based on that definition, I have ‘genealogy fun’ almost every day. I thoroughly enjoy doing research and sharing that research in a variety of ways. While I have never considered myself a writer, I also enjoy writing posts for this blog.

Recently, my ‘genealogy fun’ has involved using FamilySearch’s new Experimental Search lab. I have been searching the Lincoln County, Kentucky records for the surname Crawford. I’m particularly interested in records prior to 1850. In the process of doing this research, I think I’ve uncovered the family of a John Crawford or even the families of two John Crawfords who are not on the FamilySearch tree or even easily found in Ancestry trees.

I consider the challenge of figuring out these families genealogy fun!
