Because I’m finding lots of deeds I have found before, I’m starting to do more CRAWFORD research in Virginia. Today, I uncovered an Inventory for the estate of John Maxwell, first husband of Rebecca Anderson.

Know all men by this presents that we Rebecca Maxwell Bazabel Maxwell Patrick
Campbell and Robert Buchanan are held and firmly bound to Wm Preston Andrew Boyd
Wm Davies and James Newell Gentlemen Justices of the Court of Montgomery County now selling
in the sum of two hundred pounds to the payment whereof well and truly to be made
to the said Justices and their successors we bind ourselves and each of us our and
Each of our heirs Executors and Administrators jointly and severally firmly by
then presents Sealed with our Seals and dated this second day of March 1779
and in the third year of the Commonwealth
The Condition of this obligation is such that if the above bound Rebec
cah Maxwell and Bazwell Maxwell Administratrix and Administra
tor of the Estate of John Maxwell deceased do make or cause to be made a true
and perfect Inventory of all the Estate of the said deceased which have
or shall come to the hands or possession of the said Rebecca Maxwell
or Bazwell Maxwell or into the possession of any other person or person ,
for them and the same so made to Exhibit to the Court of Montgomery
County at such time as they shall be thereunto required by the said Court , and
the Same Goods , Chattles , and Credits , and all other the Goods , Chattles , and Credits of the
said Deceased , which at any time after shall come to the Hands , possession
Knowledge , of the said Rebeccah Maxwell or Bazell Marewell or into the Hands and
Possession of any other person or persons for them do well and truly administer , according
to law ; and further , do make do make a just and true account of actings and doing ,
therein , when thereto required by the sd Court : and also shall well and truly pay and
Deliver all the Legacies contained and specified in the sd Testament , as far as the said
Goods , Chattles and Credits will thereunto extend , and the law shall charge . then this
obligation to be void and of none effect , or else to remain in full force and
