Calling all Genea-Musings Fans:
It’s Saturday Night Again –
Time For Some More Genealogy Fun!!
Come on, everybody, join in and accept the mission and execute it with precision.
1) One of the goals of every genealogy researcher is to solve difficult name and relationship problems – and traditionally we do a “genealogy happy dance” when we succeed.
2) When was the last time you did a “genealogy happy dance” after solving one of your difficult problems?
Well, I haven’t done much ‘dancing’ lately. My fan chart is complete thru 6 generations and has a few holes in the 7th generation.

When I searched my blog to see if I mentioned ‘dancing’ I found a post titled “Happy Dance”.

Unfortunately, that post is about access to sources and not about actual research results.
In terms of my research, I have
- found the name of the ship that my 7th great grandfather, David Franklin Ralston, arrived on in 1803 along with his mother and siblings.
- found a probable sister to my 7th great grandmother, Hannah Barr. [James Barr Deeds]
Even though my current research project isn’t causing me to dance, it should help others dance. Thanks to the FamilySearch’s experimental labs I’m locating Crawford deeds in early Lincoln County, Kentucky. Several of those deed reference heirs of John Crawford. I’ve been able to match a few of these heirs with individuals on the FamiySearh tree. So far, none of the names I’ve matched from the deeds show a Crawford ancestor in the tree. Hopefully, someone will be dancing when I finish analyzing these deeds and connecting them to profiles on FamilySearch!
I’m still busy trolling full-text search. So many names to search!!! 🙂
