Travel Bloggers

Do you volunteer at a local historical or genealogical society? If so, have you worked with a travel blogger? Even though I realize that many genealogy bloggers are either professional genalogists or use advertising to support their blog, I was not aware of the travel blogger occupation.

I had my first experience with a travel blogger when the Nemaha County Historical Society hosted Seth Varner and Wandermore Publishing in March 2023. After touring the local sites, including the historical society’s museums, Seth shared photos of Seneca on his Facebook page Wandermore in Kansas.

This past week, the historical society hosted another travel blogger, Vanessa Whiteside of One Delightful Life. Vanessa spent almost two hours with us touring our museums. On Memorial Day, One Delightful Life share a Facebook post about Nemaha County Historical Society’s Military Museum.

It’s been a joy to welcome these travel bloggers to Seneca, Kansas. We truly appreciate their skills in promoting our little town and the Nemaha County Historical Society.
