Know all men by these presents that we Joseph Bashford Sen ,
John M. Bashford , Robert C. Bashford , William Bashford , James Bashford
Joseph Bashford , Sarah J. Bashford of the State of Ohio do hereby
nominate , constitute & appoint Eli D. Bashford & John McCoy of
the County of Morrow & State of Ohio our attorney in fact
to demand and receive of the administrator of John Crawford deceased
any money which may be due us as heirs at Law of sd
Crawford , my said attorneys are hereby authorized to give receipts
for all money due us from the estate of said Crawford . They
are authorized to institute suits in any of the courts of
Kentucky for the recovery of any land or money to which
they consider we are entitled as the heirs of John Crawford ,
and my said attornies are hereby authorized to com –

promise our land claims , sell the same & make conveyances therefor
They are authorized to sign our names to all such bonds as may
be required to be executed in any of courts of Kentucky , incident
to the prosecution of suits we contemplate instituting . They are
authorized to employ counsel , & make such contracts as they may
deem right , & sign our names to such contracts as they make .
We hereby ratify & confirm all acts done by our said attornies
in the premises , & the same when done shall be as binding , as if
we were personally present at the doing of the same .
In testimony whereof we have hereto set our hands & Seals this
2d day of February 1849 .

On this 2nd day of February 1849 personally appeared before the
undersigned a Justice of the Peace for the County & State above men
tioned , Joseph Bashford , John M. Bashford , Robert C. Bashford William Bashford
James Bashford , Joseph Bashford Sarah J. Bashford and acknowledged
the foregoing Power of Attorney to be their act and deed .

I hereby certify that William Shunk Esqr whose name appears
to the foregoing acknowledgment was at the time of signing
the same a Justice of the Peace for the County & State aforesd duly
commissioned & sworn , & his signature is genuine . In testimony
whereof I have hereto set my name & affixed the seal of the Morrow
County Court of Common Pleas , of which I am Clerk this 3rd
day of February 1849

I Thomas Helm Clerk of the County Court for the County
aforesaid , do certify that this Power of Attorney from Bashford ‘s Heirs to
Eli D. Bashford and John McCoy was this day produced to me in my
office with the certificates thereon endorsed . Whereupon the said Power of
Attorney with the certificates endorsed thereon , together with the
foregoing certificate hath been duly admitted to record in my Office
Given under my hand this 3rd day of July 1849 .
