Calling all Genea-Musings Fans:
It’s Saturday Night again –
Time for some more Genealogy Fun!!
Come on, everybody, join in and accept the mission and execute it with precision.
1) When was the last time you visited the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City, or visited a local FamilySearch Center?
2) What record collections ar on your To-Do List, whether at the FamilySearch Library, or a FamilySearch Center, or the Full-Text Search feature online, or Digital Microfilm on the Images or Catalog Link on the FamilySearch.org website?
Have I been to the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City?
Yes, I’ve visited three times.
Have I used a local FamilySearch center?
Yes, I’ve accessed the centers in Topeka and Emporia, Kansas.
Do I remember the last time I visited the Salt Lake City library?
No, but it was likely before 1992.
Do I remember the last time I visited a local FamilySearch center?
No, I don’t recall.
Do I have a FamilySearch ‘To Do’ list?
Absolutely!
However, most items on my ‘To Do’ list can be handled either from home or at an Affiliate Library. With the Seneca Free Library—an affiliate library—just half a mile from my house, a special trip isn’t necessary. As a result, I don’t accumulate a long list of research tasks.
I’m also fortunate to live within a few hours’ drive of the Midwest Genealogy Center in Independence, Missouri. On my last visit, I discovered they have an extensive collection of microfiche and microfilm from the Family History Library that hasn’t yet been digitized. This resource allows me to access materials that many travel to Salt Lake City to view.
I’m planning another trip to the Midwest Genealogy Center this fall.

Thanks Randy Seaver for this challenge!
