My ancestor, James Crawford, married Sally Duggins in 1799 in Garrard County, Kentucky. Sally, was a young widow with two sons: Henry and William. Henry was 11 and William 5 when their mother remarried. Both sons moved to Preble county, Ohio with their mother and stepfather.
William survived his mother, dying in 1872 in Preble county. Below is his will.

The State of Ohio Preble County . SS . ⎬ Proceedings had in the
Probate Court on the 26th Day of Feb . 1872 . J M. King Judge .
This day came Wm N. Duggins and produced to the Court
for Probate and Record the last will and Testament of Wm A
Duggins , decd late of said County . And at the same time cam
B. F. Larsh and John A. Crouse the witnesses to said Will
who were duly sworn and testified as to the making of said
Will , which testimony was by the Court reduced to writing ,
and signed by said witnesses and filed with said will
And the Court finds from said testimony that said will
was duly signed , acknowledged and attested , and that the
Testator was at the time he so made his said will of
full age , of sound and disposing mind , memory and judg
ment , and not laboring under any undue or unlawful restraint
whatsoever , It is therefore by the Court ordered that said
will be , and the same hereby is admitted to Probate , and
it is further ordered that said will , testimony and this jour
nal entry be recorded in the Wills Record of this Court
said will is in the words and figures following to wit :
I. Wm A. Duggins of Preble County Ohio , of full age , of sound
mind and memory , and not laboring under any restraint do make
and publish this my last will and testament , in manner
and form following , to wit : Item 1st It is my will that
at my decease , all my just debts and funeral expenses be
paid . Item 2nd I do hereby bequeath , will and devise unto
my Son Benj . A. Duggins , Eighty five acres of land more or
less , being the North half of the North East quarter of Section 17
seventeen , Tp . 7. Range 2 . East , in Phebe County Ohio , and to
his heirs and assigns forever . Item 3rd I do hereby will
devise and bequeath with my son Henry J. Duggins
Eighty five acres of land more of less . being of the south half
of the North East qr . of Sec 17 seventeen , Tp 7 R. 2. East in
Preble County , and to his heirs and assigns forever . Item 4th
I do hereby will , devise , and bequeath unto my Son Wm N
Duggins , Eighty Acres of land , being the West half of the North
West Qr . of Section (10) Ten Tp . 8. R. 2 . East in Preble County O.
and to his heirs and assigns forever , Item 5th . I do hereby will
devise and bequeath with my daughter Sarah H. Kincaid , wifepage 111
William A . Duggins Will
of John Kincard , Eighty Acres of land , being the East half
of the North West Qr of Sec . Ten ( 10 ) Tp . 8 . R. 2. East , in Preble
County Ohio , and her heirs and assigns forever . The road on the S line
of said N. W. qr . of sec 10 to be kept open. I do further will devise
and bequeath unto my sons , Benj . A. Duggins , Henry J. Duggins
Wm N. Duggins , the Sum of Five Hundred Dollars each , to be
paid to them out of my personal estate , or if my said personal estate
be not sufficient to pay this legacy , it is my will then , that the
one hundred acre tract of land , described as follows , being the
North part of the S. E . qr . of Sec . 10 . & a part of the S. W. qr . of said
Sec . 10 . Tp 8 . R . 2 . E . in Preble County Ohio , be sold , at private or
public sale , as my children may agree , which I hereby author
ize them to do , and to make , execute , acknowledge and deliver
good and sufficient warranty deeds , to the purchaser or pur
chasers there of , and so much of the proceeds thereof as shall be
necessary , shall be used in the payment of the legacies above de
scribed in this item , and the residue thereof I do hereby will
and devise unto each of my said four children , share and
share alike . Item 7 ” It is my will that at my decease , all the
personal property of every kind and description of which I may
die seized , shall be equally divided between my said four children
share and share alike ; or if my said children shall not agree as
to the actual division of the specific property , then it is my will
that the same shall be sold in such manner as my said
children or a majority of them shall agree , and the proceeds
thereof be equally divided between them . The foregoing dis
position of my estate is made so that my said Children
shall share as nearly equal in my estate as possible , I having
hereto fore made advances to some of them to a greater or less
extent than others , and the foregoing is intended to make
them all equal , Item 8 . ” It is my will that in case
my wife survives me , that her living and support be char
ged upon my entire estate , and my said children and their
heirs are hereby enjoined and required to give my said
wife Sally , a good and ample support and maintenance
so long as she lives . In witness whereof , I have here
unto subscribed my name and affixed my seal , this

depose and say that they were present at the making
of said Will , and at the request of the deceased , sub
scribed their names to said Will , as witnesses , in the
presence of the deceased , and of each other , that they saw
the said the said William A. Duggins deceased , sign and seal
said Will , and heard him acknowledge the same to
be his last Will and Testament , that the said Wm A.
Duggins was at the time of making , signing and seal
ing said Will , of legal age and of sound and disposing
mind memory and judgment , and under no undue or
