Wandering

Do you ever feel like you’ve wandered off course in your genealogy research? Lately, I’ve found myself ‘off track’ with my Crawford research, especially while exploring FamilySearch’s new experimental labs. While I’ve uncovered fascinating deeds and wills, I’m not quite sure how they connect to my Crawford lineage.

It reminds me of a recent trip to Grinter Farms with my husband to see the sunflowers. Just like genealogy, we had two options for getting there: the fast, familiar route or a slower, less-traveled one. Due to construction, we opted for the back roads, and what a choice that was! The drive led us through scenic farm country, offering unexpected beauty along the way.

In the end, I got to take some amazing photos of the sunflowers—just like in genealogy, even when you’re unsure of your path, the journey can still lead to rewarding discoveries.
