Have you ever used Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create a logo? Recently, C. McCulloch shared her experience with logo creation using AI in the Genealogy and Artificial Intelligence group on Facebook. Inspired by her post, I decided to experiment with ChatGPT to design a logo for an upcoming event at the Nemaha County Historical Society.
While I was pleased with the initial results, I found the small text (13-30) above the lines less than ideal. To explore other options, I turned to ideogram.ai.

Logos by AI look okay. However, I am starting to find that when I go to read a blog post and the first thing I see is an AI-created image – and they are starting to have that “look” where they are easily identifiable – I am getting turned off and don’t read the post. If the whole post is about AI and those are images, that’s fine. But if the writer is sharing a family story or methodology or whatever and that image opens the post, I wonder whether AI produced the text, too, and I move on.
