IGI
While updating sources for Benjamin Duggins, I came across some old notes from the IGI (International Genealogical Index). Do you remember using the IGI in your research?

Hoping to update these notes with a digital version of the IGI, I searched online and found that FamilySearch offers a way to search the IGI directly.

I searched for Duggins in Preble County, Ohio, and while I found some familiar names, I didn’t locate the marriage record for Benjamin A. Duggins and Jane Hunter.

Curious about the missing record, I explored further by looking up the IGI Wiki, which includes a section on “Known Issues.” This helped me understand that the IGI has been divided into two parts: historical records and contributed records. However, I couldn’t immediately find the tab for contributed records. Returning to the search screen, I noticed an explanation indicating I had been searching historical records, and there was a link to search the contributed records separately.

Once I switched to searching the contributed IGI, I found several references to Benjamin Duggins’ marriage to Jane Hunter.
Although I didn’t find a specific record of their marriage, I gained a better understanding of how to navigate the updated version of the IGI.
