Have you ever wished that Artificial Intelligence (AI) could handle time-consuming edits in Word or Excel for you? I recently faced this when trying to reverse the order of a document that I use to schedule blog posts. Instead of manually reordering my September and October posts, I turned to ChatGPT for help—and it worked!

Knowing that I try to put an index to my blog on a Wikitree space, I realized that I might be able to use ChatGPT to create the index for me instead of my typing from my bullet journal. Thus, I gave it the address of my blog and asked it to create an index for August.

At first glance, I appears that ChatGPT just timed out in creating the list. However, my Wandering blog post was about a trip to the sunflower fields that I took in September. Thus, it could not have been posted in August.

Realizing that ChatGPT struggled with my initial prompt, I thought about how I could improve my prompt to get better results. When I provided a link to the August index from my blog instead of a link to the front page of my blog, ChatGPT did a better job of creating my index.

Since ChatGPT did not give me a list for the entire month, I started investigating my blog to see if I could figure out how to again improve my prompt. That’s when I realized that ChatGPT was stopping at the bottom of the page and not following the link to ‘Older Posts’.

After giving ChatGPT similar prompts for page 2, 3 and 4 of my August index, I had a fairly complete list. A quick scan of the results revealed that it missed the posts for August 11th. I found this post at the bottom of page 2.

Yes, ChatGPT was not 100% correct with these lists. However, the time spent proof-reading and editing the results is minimal compared to the time required to create the list by hand! Thank you ChatGPT!
