WOODSON COUNTY, ss.
In the Probate Court in and for Said County and State.

MARRIAGE AFFIDAVIT.

Philip E. Mentzer hereby applies for a Marriage License addressed to any minister or magistrate authorized by law to unite in matrimony Philip E. Mentzer and Anna M. Schoefflin, and being duly sworn, deposes:

That said Philip E. Mentzer is aged 28 years, and that said Anna M. Schoefflin is aged 26 years; that they have their parents’ consent to said union, and that neither has been divorced within six months last past.

That said contracting parties are not related to each other in any of the degrees prohibited by law, namely: Parent and child, grandparent and grandchild in any degree, brother and sister of the whole or the half blood, uncle or niece, aunt or nephew, nor first cousins.

That neither of said parties is or has ever been epileptic, imbecile, feeble-minded, or insane; or, if either is or has been so afflicted, then that is more than forty-five years of age.

And that neither party was born subsequent to the insanity of either of his or her parents, or if so, that the woman about to be married is more than forty-five years of age.

BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 23rd day of October A.D. 1905, there was issued from the office of said Probate Judge, a Marriage License, of which the following is a true copy:

MARRIAGE LICENSE.

Woodson County, State of Kansas, October 23rd A.D. 1905.
No. 96.
To any Person Authorized by Law to Perform the Marriage Ceremony, Greeting:

You are hereby authorized to join in marriage Philip E. Mentzer of Yates Center, aged 28 years, and Anna M. Schoefflin of Yates Center, aged 26 years, and of this License you will make due return to my office within thirty days.

And which said Marriage License was afterwards, to wit, on the 25th day of October A.D. 1905, returned to said Probate Judge, with the following certificate endorsed thereon, to wit:

State of Kansas, County of Woodson, ss.
I, C. H. Bailey, do hereby certify, that in accordance with the authorization of the within License, I did, on the 25th day of October A.D. 1905, at Yates Center, in said County, join and unite in Marriage the within named Philip E. Mentzer and Miss Anna M. Schoefflin.

WITNESS MY HAND and seal this 25th day of October A.D. 1905.
