Local Council of Defense.

Pursuant to a call by Mayor F. A. Dubner, about fifty citizens gathered at the Electric Theater Thursday night of last week and organized a local Council of Defense. F. A. Dubner was elected chairman and James Tomlinson secretary, and it was left to the chairman to appoint the various committees.

The object and purposes of the organization were explained. There appeared to be much interest manifested and a desire expressed to meet the demands of the new organization. Watch for the dates of future meetings. Everybody is cordially invited.
