Writing Assistant

Greetings from Snowy Kansas!

For those who don’t know, I live in northeast Kansas, where we’re currently in the midst of a blizzard. Yesterday brought freezing drizzle, and much of the state experienced freezing rain. With roads now coated in a layer of ice beneath the snow, we’ve been asked to stay home for safety. As a result, most church services have been canceled.

Thankfully, our local United Methodist Church was prepared! Anticipating the storm, we filmed the service on Friday afternoon, and the YouTube video was made public this morning. To help share the service with others beyond our congregation, I also wrote a post for Facebook.

My Version:
Today is Epiphany Sunday where the church remembers the visit of the Magi to Jesus. The Magi’s presentation of gifts to the Christ child is seen to proclaim that Christ came to provide salvation for everyone.
Today, you are invited to celebrate Epiphany Sunday from your living rooms. Join Pastor Tim Woods and the Seneca United Methodist church in song, scripture, sermon and prayer as we read about the gifts the Magi bring and ponder what gifts we can bring to Christ.
The previously recorded service is on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbNIn3ynn_Q

ChatGPT – My Writing Assistant

Afterward, I turned to ChatGPT for help refining my post.

ChatGPT‘s version

Today is Epiphany Sunday, a day when the church reflects on the visit of the Magi to the Christ child.
Their presentation of gifts symbolizes the proclamation that Christ came to offer salvation to all.

You are warmly invited to celebrate Epiphany Sunday from the comfort of your home. Join Pastor Tim Woods and the Seneca United Methodist Church in worship through song, scripture, sermon, and prayer. Together, we’ll reflect on the gifts the Magi brought to Jesus and consider what gifts we can offer to Him in our own lives.

The pre-recorded service is available on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbNIn3ynn_Q

As usual, ChatGPT transformed my original writing into what I believe is a much-improved version. This is just one example of how I use ChatGPT as a reliable writing assistant.
