No Private Gain In Aluminum
Waste Material Dealers Allowed Cost Only

No individual will receive a profit in the aluminum-aid-to-arms drive which will be conducted in Nemaha County and throughout Kansas next week, says Frank Sullivan, chairman of the campaign for Kansas.

In Nemaha, the mayors and chairmen of the county commissioners supervise the collection and disposal through waste material dealers. These dealers will be reimbursed only for the cost of sorting, preparing, and shipping to smelters.

When the metal reaches a smelter, the smelter will settle by check, payable to the National Scrap Aluminum Fund. These checks will be sent to Federal Reserve banks. A copy of the voucher paid on the collections in this area will be sent to local chairmen and will be available for publication. It will show the amount of aluminum received, the rate at which it was paid for, value of rejections at smelting plants and at dealers’ yards, total amount paid for costs, and total amount remitted by the smelters to the National Fund.
