Bluesky Lists

Are you on BlueSky? If so, do you follow a variety of topics or stick to genealogy? I recently discovered the ability to curate lists, which I hope will enhance my experience and make it easier to keep up with genealogy-related posts.

At first, I didn’t have a list on BlueSky. But I remembered that Climbing My Family Tree had recently shared a list of genealogy bloggers on the platform. Using that list—along with the article Creating Themed Lists of Accounts That You Follow on BlueSky—I started building my own. I then searched for terms like genealogy and genealogist to find and add more relevant accounts.

In the process, I learned something new: BlueSky lists are public! This means that not only can others find my genealogy list, but I can also discover and use lists created by others to refine my own or explore other interests.

Now, with my curated genealogy list, I have a dedicated feed to stay updated on genealogy news and discussions on BlueSky. Have you tried using lists on BlueSky? If so, what topics are you following?

  2. TY for mentioning my list of genealogy bloggers on BlueSky and especially TY for explaining how themed lists work (and that they’re public).

  4. It’s a bit ironic that your share button doesn’t include Bluesky for an article about Bluesky. 🙂 A lot more platforms and providers are including Bluesky now in its tool box for sharing.

Thanks for the nudge to check the settings on my site! I hopefully now have a button for Bluesky.
