Saturday Night Genealogy Fun

Calling all Genea-Musings Fans:

Come on, everybody, join in and accept the mission and execute it with precision.

1)  ‘Twas the week before RootsTech 2025, and all through the house, the genealogists were checking their RootsTech schedule.  What classes are you looking forward to watching online (for FREE) or attending in-person?

2) Tell us about your plans for RootsTech 2025 in your own blog post, in a comment on this post, or in a Facebook post.  Please leave a link on this post if you write your own post

Randy commented about his having scheduled classes and then having them disappear. That also happened to me. I had classes scheduled but when I checked my schedule to write this blog post, none of them were scheduled.

So, now I have a spreadsheet of the various classes on my ‘schedule’

Like Randy, my schedule is full of AI classes. However, when I compared my list to his, I found a class on his list that is not on my list. Nor is it on my list of potential online classes for that day.

Discover Your DNA Story with DaNA: Your AI Guide

Since Randy alerted me to the class (which does show up if you search for it by name), I now have it on my schedule.

Besides AI, I am always interested in the ‘what’s news’ type of sessions and announcements. Thus, Crista Cowan’s What’s New at Ancestry in 2025 session is on my list. I also have several FamilySearch sessions, a couple of DNA classes and the General Sessions scheduled.

While I’m betting that I don’t get all of the sessions I have highlighted to watch actually watched, it will be a great week for genealogy education!

I just checked RootsTech site to download the syllabi (thanks Randy for directions) and most of my sessions were no longer listed. Thankfully, I have my list on a spreadsheet!
