Saturday Night Genealogy Fun

Calling all Genea-Musings Fans:

Come on, everybody, join in and accept the mission and execute it with precision.

1)  ‘Twas the week of RootsTech 2025, and all through the house, the genealogists were checking their RootsTech schedule.  What classes did you absolutely love this week?

2) Tell us about your favorite RootsTech 2025 classes in your own blog post, in a comment on this post, or in a Facebook post.  Please leave a link on this post if you write your own post.

Unfortunately, appointments and tasks interferred with my RootsTech participation. Fortunately, I was able to catch some of the sessions that were of particular interest.

As always, I enjoyed Crista Cowen’s session about changes at Ancestry and have already created two networks in my online tree.

Another session that I happened to catch was the RootsTech Innovation Forum. As typicalof this session, I look forward to these innovations becoming part of my genealogy toolbox.

However, my favorite sessions was the group of AI sessions. I’m thankful for the way that they outlined developing prompts and for the guidance of the Guidelines for Responsible Use. While I missed the part where they gave Randy Seaver credit for the AI education he has provided, Randy deserves that recognition. Many of his AI related blog posts have prompted me to try similar tasks.

Even though I missed many of my scheduled sessions, I will be checking out the on-demand library of videos to watch the ones I missed.

Thank you FamilySearch and everyone who made RootsTech possible!

  1. Randy most definitely deserves tons of credit for all the AI genealogy education he is providing! Not only are we all learning navigation tips, he’s showing the fun side, too, with the poems and songs.
