Saturday Night Genealogy Fun

Calling all Genea-Musings Fans:

 It’s Saturday Night again –

Time for some more Genealogy Fun!!

Your mission, should you decide to accept it (cue the Mission Impossible! music) is to:

1) Did you have good genealogy fun this past week?  Did you add to your family Tree?  Did you make a great discovery?  Did you try something new?  Did you make family history?

Did I have good genealogy fun this past week? Definitely!

This week reminded me just how rewarding it can be to blend genealogy with creativity and technology. I explored new ways to visualize research, organize family connections, and even experimented with making a genealogy-themed video using Canva (yes—video!). It’s always satisfying when I can take traditional research and give it a modern twist.

Along the way, I reviewed some challenging ancestors, played with maps and timelines, and found myself seeing old data in new ways. That, to me, is what keeps genealogy fun—not just the discoveries, but the process of exploring them.

So yes, it was a great week full of genealogical inspiration, and I can’t wait to keep the momentum going!

I’d like to give a special thanks to Randy Seaver for openly sharing how he uses AI in his genealogy work—and for continually inspiring the rest of us to apply these tools to our own research challenges.

Almost all of my recent genealogy fun will be featured in upcoming blog posts… so stay tuned for what’s ahead!
