Your mission, should you decide to accept it (cue the Mission Impossible! music) is to:

1)  Did your grandparents know their grandparents personally?  

2)  Checdk you family tree, and share your grandparents names, birth and death years and places, and their grandparents names, birth and death year and places, and indicate if they knew their grandparents.

  • Granddaughter of Albert Hutchinson (1836-1896)
  • Granddaughter of Julia Harding (1840-1892)

Edward Osmond Briles – born 1891

  • Grandson of Noah Washington Briles (1840-1879)
  • Grandson of Sarah Jane Thompson (1843-1930)
  • Grandson of James Marshall Ricketts (1847-1920)
  • Grandson of Rachel Elmeda Christy (1845-1927)

Pauline Edith Mentzer – born 1896

  • Grandaughter of George Mentzer (1838-1912)
  • Granddaughter of Emiline Minnick (1848-1927)
  • Granddaughter of Thurston Kennedy Wells (1821-1893)
  • Granddaughter of Salome Adell Crandall (1836-1893)

My grandfather, Leon Crawford, knew his grandmother Crawford and his grandfather Hammond since they were all living in Dodge CIty at the same time.

My grandmother, Winnie Currey Crawford did not know her grandparents since they all died before her birth.

My grandfather, Edward O. Briles knew his grandmother, Sarah Jane Thompson Briles, and his grandparents James and Rachel (Christy) Ricketts since they all lived near Vernon, Kansas.

My grandmother, Pauline Mentzer Briles knew her Mentzer grandparents, George and Emiline (Minnick) Mentzer but did not know her Wells grandparents since they died before her birth.
