Today’s item is another letter in my Briles folder from Mildred Barby.

Dear Marcie,
It is good to hear from you again. We think of you often and wonder how you are, hopefully, you two are doing well.
We have been fairly well, but the snow has kept Fred, Paul (his brother) and hired hand working from early morning til late at night, feeding and caring for the new born calves during this time.
I have been needing to see the doctor several times, but had to cancel my appointments, at least 3 times. We went to Dodge City to a specialist last Mon. to see about my throat; yesterday to Laverne to get medication for high blood pressure. I believe I’ll be better now.
I may be sending you information of what I have already sent or you have already.
It looks like to me Anderson Briles may have been born out of wedlock and was given his mother’s name (Briles) and raised in grandfather, John Briles’ home, but I guess one can’t go on a guess. I don’t know the real fact.
I have never written to Harriet E. Briles and I’ve had this for quite some time. I don’t know if you want to inquire about your question or not, but she may have found out about it.
We had a nice time at the last Briles Reunion. Hope you can come see us at the next one. We missed seeing you and Mike, maybe we can compare our notes.
We saw Betty and Myran Rush there at the reunion. He is related to Dorcus and Sarah Rush. He lives at Iola, Ks.
Well, I have been feeling so badly and I am afraid I have not given you much help. Please excuse my mistakes.
Let me know if you find out
(over)more about Anderson. I’d also like to have a copy of what your folks found out.
Love,
Mickey & Fred
Barby
Have I sent this written material, also pictures before?
