Somehow I was caught unawares! RootsMagic just released a new version of their genealogy software.
While I have not figured out the new features, I have purchased the software, converted my file and started using it.
As a former school technology coordinator, I have strong convictions about keeping software current. Knowing that others might question the need to upgrade to a newer version, I asked ChatGPT “what are some reasong for upgrading software.” The short answer was
upgrading helps keep your system secure, reliable, and compatible, while also giving you access to new tools and improved performance.

I just got it, but haven’t tried it out yet. Not having done much genealogy lately, I barely used 10. I plan to buy the book for 11, but at a later date.
I have the book for version 6 that I still refer to — particularly the section at the back on how to write the sentences. Perhaps it is time to consider updating that book!
