Calling All Genea-Musings Fans!
It’s Saturday Night again —
and you know what that means…
time for some Genealogy Fun!
Hey boys and girls, gather ’round — it’s Mission Impossible time (cue the music!). Your assignment, should you choose to accept it:
- Larry Smith is credited with creating the idea of six-word memoirs (see https://www.sixwordmemoirs.com/).
- Think about your own life. How do you want to be remembered? What matters most to you?
- Then write at least one six-word memoir — on any subject, in any tone. The sky’s the limit!
As for me? Creative writer I am not, so I turned to my faithful assistant for help. I shared a narrative report about myself from RootsMagic and asked for inspiration. My very creative assistant responded with the following six-word memoirs:

I had a lot of fun exploring these tiny snapshots of my life, and I have to give full credit to ChatGPT for helping me shape them. By feeding it the narrative report from RootsMagic, it pulled out themes, milestones, and memories I might not have thought to distill into just six words. It was an enjoyable collaboration — and a reminder that even in genealogy, a little creativity (and a little AI) can go a long way!
