Do you set any genealogy goals? For the past few years, I’ve been creating annual goals. While I haven’t been able to complete those goals, they have helped me stay focused. Thus, I will continue to create annual goals.
Purge / Cull
A new goal for 2024 is to reduce the amount of paper in my genealogy collection. Ideally, I would like to get rid of one file drawer of paper over the year. This will involve making sure everything is scanned and that the documents are sourced in my file.
Descendancy Research
Over the years, I have found that the more I know about descendants, the easier it is to locate information about the ancestor. In addition, this resarch helps me identify my DNA matches. This year, my goal includes some CRAWFORD yDNA match lines along with my own ancestral lines.
- John Burke
- Eli Bland
- Hampton Crandall
- Alexander Crawford (of Lincoln County KY)
- Edward Crawford (of Overton, TN)
Crawford Research
As I’m still trying to break thru that Crawfod brick wall, I want to do more digging into county records for the various Crawford lines.
- Lincoln County, Kentucky
- Pulaski County, Kentucky
- Rockcastle County, Kentucky
- Montgomery County, Virginia
- Botetourt County, Virginia
- Augusta County, Virginia
As I work on these goals, I will continue to share my research via online trees and this blog.
Those are ambitious goals. I hope you are successful with all of them. Paper purging is something I did years ago.
